About

Professional

Oh, hello . I didn’t see you standing there.

As you may have guessed from the site name, I’m Chris Collins. Currently I am an Apple Platform Engineer for Live Nation/Ticketmaster.

I’ve spent the last 19 years professionally involved in administrating, deploying, or in some other way working with Apple computers in the professional space.

Besides the last 7 years at Live Nation, I spent 10 years helping television, post production, and government facilities move to using Apple based technologies, particularly focused around video workflows and fast fancy storage.

I am a huge proponent that any Mac admin can learn to code, Python is the best scripting language (don’t @ me), and you probably have a lot to teach me about something.

The landscape of technology around Apple in business has changed a lot over the last 18 years but the one thing that has always remained constant is the incredible community of admins who are always willing to share knowledge and help the community grow. This site is my contribution.

Personal

Fast run on sentence version: I grew up in Michigan, went to school in Pittsburgh, moved back and spent most of my professional career in Michigan/a plane, moved to Indiana to start working with Live Nation, met my amazing wife there, and then packed up and moved to Southern California/LA to be closer to the Live Nation mothership.

My wife and I are total technology nerds and as you can guess by where I work, we’re also both gigantic music fans. I also am a musician and gamer in my spare time (whenever that is).

Lastly, we have two of the cutest pets on earth. Image evidence below:
